DIY – DQ toggle clasp
What do you need:
-
Macramé cord
-
DQ clasp
-
Beads
-
Lighter
-
a scissor
Step 1:
Cut three pieces of macramé cord, each about 20 cm long.
Step 2:
Melt the tip of the cord slightly with a lighter to make it easier to pass through the clasp’s loop.
Step 3:
Thread the cord through one of the loops of the clasp. Seal the end with the lighter and press it against the clasp to flatten it.
Step 4:
Tie a knot, leaving a small gap between the clasp and the start of your bracelet.
Step 5:
String the beads onto the cord until you reach the desired length.
Step 6:
Tie a knot at the other end of the cord, leaving some space so the clasp can fit together neatly.
Step 7:
Pass the end of the cord through the other side of the clasp. Start with the first loop: from bottom to top. Then go through the second loop: from top to bottom, finishing underneath.
Step 8:
Trim the excess cord, leaving a small piece to seal.
Step 9:
Seal the end with the lighter and press it against the clasp.
Step 10:
Repeat this with the other two cords and, if you like, combine with different beads or cord colours until your bracelet is complete.
Step 11:
Finally, ensure that the clasp closes securely and neatly.
