DIY: Thick nylon thread: 4 methods
Thick nylon thread is ideal for jewellery with large and heavier beads. But how do you finish the thread neatly and securely? In this video, I’ll show you four different methods!
00:03 1. Crimp bead + jump ring Thread the Crimp bead onto the nylon thread, followed by the jump ring. Pass the end back through the crimp bead. Pull the thread tight and firmly crimp the bead closed.
00:16 2.Crimp tube + calotte First thread the calotte onto the nylon thread, followed by the crimp tube. Crimp the bead neatly closed and trim off the excess thread. Then close the calotte.
00:30 3. Wire guardian + crimp bead First, thread the crimp bead onto the nylon thread, followed by the wire guardian. Pass the end back through the crimp bead. Pull the thread tight and crimp the bead closed firmly.
00:41 4. Cord end + glue Apply a small drop of glue inside the cord end. Place the cord end over the end of the nylon thread. Fold the nylon thread double to create a loop inside the cord end. Firmly crimp the cord end closed.
