DIY – French Wire
00:00 What do you need:
- French Wire (97975)
- Beading wire
- Crimp bead
- Jump ring or clasp
00:03 Intro: Hello, welcome to a new DIY video. Today we’re going to use French wire. 00:06 Step 1: Cut a piece of French wire measuring approximately 1 to 1.5 cm. Hold the wire carefully while cutting to prevent it from losing its shape. 00:14 Step 2: Thread a crimp bead onto the beading wire. 00:17 Step 3: Then slide the piece of French wire onto the beading wire, right up against the crimp bead. 00:22 Step 4: Now thread the clasp (or a jump ring) onto the beading wire. Let the clasp (or jump ring) rest over the French wire. 00:29 Step 5: Pass the end of the beading wire back through the crimp bead. 00:34 Step 6: Gently pull the wire tight. The French wire will bend naturally, forming a small arch for the clasp to hang from. 00:40 Step 7: Pull the wire firmly so the French wire sits snugly against the crimp bead. Ensure no beading wire is visible. 00:48 Step 8: Squeeze the crimp bead shut to secure everything in place.
